Ink Drawing of Glacier

I did this ink drawing from the lake shore at Summit Lake in June 1990. At that time the lodge was still in existence, and I was sitting north of the lodge. The glacier today looks very small when compared to the one I saw in 1990.

Some friends and I also walked up to the edge of the glacier a few days after I did this drawing. I say "walk", because it was such a short distance from where we parked the vehicle, that I could in no way call it a hike. It is hard to believe how much this glacier has receded. Of course, I have the same reaction about the Columbia Glacier. For us old people, we never thought we would witness such tragic change.
